I can’t say I’ve met too many Red Sangrias I didn’t like.  It’s one of my favorite drinks.  So as I worked on my Gothic Punch Bowl project, I knew exactly what I wanted to fill it with…. A Fall inspired Apple Sangria!

The cool thing about Sangria is that the recipes are practically endless… different wines, different sparkling additions, different liquor mix-ins, different juices, and different fruits all can make one Sangria remarkably different from the next.  I’m a trial and error kind of girl (I’m a Libra!)… and absolutely LOVE an excuse for a cocktail taste test, so I pulled out a bunch of possible ingredients and started mixing..

I chose to use Envy apples.  I dig the name… and they taste damn good.  They’re sweet, they’re crunchy, and they don’t easily brown! I’m thinking all of the other apples really are envious!

Apple Sangria....A mix of Envy Apples, Cinnamon, and Cherries make up this Fall inspired cocktail.... perfect for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or a Fall Party! - www.MeandAnnabelLee.comI’m pretty happy with the results of my taste test.  In all, I mixed up 12 different variations of Sangria.  I found several new favorites that I’m sure I’ll provide the recipe for sooner or later…. but the following recipe won out for it’s Fall flare!  This Apple Sangria, by far, gave me that cozy feeling I was looking for!

Hope you enjoy!  And remember… Sangria gets better with a bit of time, so have some patience and make sure to make this up ahead of time, if you’re serving it for a party.
